"Where do I actually buy this?" is usually the first real question, before dosing, before protocols, before any of it. And it's a fair one to feel stuck on, because there isn't a single link that answers it. There is no back-alley guy. There are hundreds of real companies.

A lot of the hesitation here comes from a picture that isn't accurate, someone imagining a guy in a back alley with a duffel bag, or a sketchy overseas site one click from a scam. That's not what this market actually looks like. There are hundreds of established vendors who have been doing this for years, with real lab documentation, real customer service, and real reputations built over time in a community that pays close attention to who delivers and who doesn't. Not knowing that is the actual barrier for a lot of people, more than any real scarcity of good options.

What actually separates a safe vendor from a risky one

It comes down to one document, the certificate of analysis, or CoA. This is a lab report showing what an independent testing lab found when they actually tested a specific batch of a compound, not what the vendor says is in it. A vendor who can produce one, tied to the exact batch you're ordering, is operating in a completely different category than one who can't.

A real CoA does three things. It names an actual outside testing lab you can look up, not just "in-house quality control." It shows a purity percentage, generally 98% or higher for research use. And it's tied to a specific batch number, not a generic document the vendor reuses for every order. If any of those three is missing, treat the document as decoration rather than proof.

How to tell if a CoA is real, not just present

A PDF with numbers on it isn't hard to produce. What's harder to fake is an independent lab with a real name and a real address. Search the lab's name on its own, separate from the vendor's site, and see whether it turns up as a genuine testing facility with a track record, not just a name that only appears on that one vendor's certificates. A small number of labs, Janoshik in the Czech Republic among them, do a large share of this market's testing and are easy to verify this way. If a vendor's CoA points to a lab nobody else in the space has heard of, or to no lab at all, that's the moment to slow down.

The warning signs worth walking away from

  • No CoA available at all, or one that can't be tied to a specific batch
  • A price dramatically below every other vendor selling the same compound, which usually means corners were cut somewhere, most often in testing
  • Marketing language that makes medical claims or suggests dosing for human use, which is both a legal red flag and a sign the vendor isn't being careful about anything else either
  • Vague or evasive answers when you ask a direct question about their testing process

What about just asking Reddit?

A lot of people land here after searching this exact question on Reddit, and that instinct isn't wrong. Community threads are real information, people reporting what actually showed up, how long shipping took, whether a vendor answered their questions. That's worth reading. But a forum post is somebody's individual experience with one order, not a lab report, and it can't tell you whether the batch you're about to buy was actually tested. Use community reports as one input alongside a real CoA check, not as a replacement for it.
